This document is elaborated in the framework of the NICER project and provides background conceptual and theoretical elements, as well as practical guidelines for the implementation of intercultural education activities involving young refugees.
It is conceived particularly as a support for the series of workshops planned with mixed groups of refugees and non-refugees in the framework of the NICER project but can be useful in the planning and organisation of various types of educational interventions related to the interaction between refugees and local young people, as well as other intercultural situations. It is important to specify that the aim is not “to educate the refugees” but to work on the self-perceptions and on the mutual perceptions and relationships of both refugees and local young people.
