The project aimed to develop a mechanism of consultation with third country national communities, directly pursuing to ensure a continuous and efficient communication between local and national authorities, the local civil society and the citizens from EU non-member states having legal stay in Romania.
Objectives:
- the creation of a National Contact Point for TCN communities in Romania;
- the creation of a data base with TCN communities at national level;
- the creation of 5 local work groups for integration in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi and Timisoara;
- the creation of thematic work groups at national level with representatives from different regions of the country on topics such as legislation, education, culture, social protection, etc.;
- the development of a site addressed to TCN communities;
- the elaboration of a publication with relevant information for and about TCN communities and its distribution in different regions of the country.
Results:
- the creation of a National Contact Point for TCN communities;
- the creation of a data base with a minimum of 500 relevant pieces of information;
- the creation of 5 local work groups for integration in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi and Timisoara;
- the creation and support of the national thematic work groups which interact on the forum and within a seminar, proposing solutions to the problems whose solution needs the intervention of national institutions;
- the creation of a site with relevant information regarding TCN integration (www.migrant.ro);
- the elaboration and distribution of 5 issues of a magazine edited in 2000 copies, distributed at national level and available online.
The project was developed at national level, with local activities in Timisoara, Iasi, Constanta, Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest.
