With the support and at the request of the French Embassy in Romania, the Intercultural Institute developed in French and Romanian guidelines for local authorities from France and Romania to cooperate on promoting social inclusion.

In 2009 IIT started a series of activities aiming to support the civic participation and integration of migrants. These activities were developed in a series of projects co-financed through the European Fund for the Integration of Third Country Nationals, administered in Romania by the General Inspectorate for Immigration within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The activities of the project were designed by the project partners to respond to the needs of the young people whom the project partners represented or worked with.
The project started from the need for a coherent youth policy in Timisoara, that would respond to the needs of the young people in the community. The project produced a policy document offering a strategic direction based on structured dialogue between youth and decision makers.
