At the Intercultural Institute Timișoara, our work has always been rooted in promoting intercultural values, active citizenship, and respect for human rights.
Because many of our programmes involve children and young people, whether directly or indirectly, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child we encounter is safe, respected, and protected. Our Child Protection Policy outlines the principles, responsibilities, and procedures that guide this commitment. It applies to all IIT staff, collaborators, volunteers, and partners, as well as to any child participating in or impacted by our activities.
This policy represents more than a set of rules. It is a reflection of our values and our promise to create a safe organisational culture where children’s rights are upheld and their wellbeing is placed first. As the policy states, it is “a set of measures aimed at protecting children from harm and creating a safe organizational culture that embeds democratic values.”
By implementing clear safeguards, promoting awareness, and fostering an environment of trust, we ensure that every child who engages with IIT can learn, participate, and grow in safety.
