CONFERENCE
PRESENTATION
SOCIAL SCIENCES
AND THE QUESTION OF INTERCULTURALISM: AN ASSESSMENT
date: 18-21
October 2001 venue: University of the West Timisoara
This
conference is to assess the state of the art of interculturalism
and to provide new avenues for research in Romania. This
assessment is based on the existing materials collected
by the Intercultural Institute (Timisoara) and the Research
Centre on Inter- ethnic Relations (Cluj), consisting of
both published and unpublished texts of scholars and researchers.
Similar assessment done in other countries of Southeast
Europe will be presented by institutional partners
i.e. Ethnobarometer--International Research
Network on Interethnic Politics and Migration (Rome) and
the Institute of Sociology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
(BAS) in Sofia, in order to provide a point of comparison.
